2015.

I am (hopefully) back after a very long break! I started missing writing posts so I decided to try and pick this blog up again. I have no idea yet in which direction this is gonna go and how long this is going to last, but here's to a new start!

So 2015 has come to an end, and it has been an amazing and shitty year. It has been one of the toughest, but also one of the best years my life. For one, I turned eighteen, which means I was allowed to finally drive by myself! I finished my gap year in Oxford and returned home to start university here, in september.
I know it sounds incredibly cheesy, but with new experiences in life, comes change. Now it happens to be that I do not like change at all, but it did teach me a lot.
So here's what this past year has taught me:

  1. If you want something to change, don't just sit and wait it gets better. Actually go out and change it yourself
  2. Don't always put yourself in front of others. Sure, it's nice to do so, but don't let yourself suffer because of it
  3. Go out and make the most of your life
  4. Take on new adventures
  5. It's very much okay to stay in and do absolutely nothing
  6. It's also okay to be out and about a lot of the time
  7. Try to balance your work / studies and social activities
They are all fairly standard lessons everyone always teaches, but I did happen to find these things out for myself as well. In the end I guess it is just something everyone has to go through and discover for themselves, but I hope at least one person picks something up from this.

The Script was insanee!!

WOW. IT WAS AMA-ZING.

The Script #3 World Tour Concert last night, BEST FREAKING CONCERT EVER!

The whole week I was looking forward to it soo much and the day before yesterday it was finally the time!
The doors opened at 18.30 and we were there at 17.30. We had to wait in the cold for an hour and that was definitely not fun. It was like -6 °C, so we were freezing. When the doors opened, everyone started walking and you had to hold each others hands to don't get lost. When we got in the actual venue, there weren't many people yet, so we got really good placed to stand. We were soo extremely close.

The concert started at exactly 20.00, and it started with the supporting act, The Original Rudeboys. They are really good! Go check them out if you don't know them yet! The crowd was amazing, everyone was making so much noise and it was soo good!

At exactly 21.00 the actual concert started. I can't explain the feeling I got when they walked on stage, it was just insane. The songs they sung were Good Ol' Days, We Cry, Breakeven, Science & Faith, Before The Worst, The Man Who Can't Be Moved, If You Could See Me Now, If You Ever Come Back, Nothing, I'm Yours, Six Degrees Of Seperation, You Won't Feel A Thing, For The First Time and Hall Of Fame. For me personally, my highlights were The Man Who Can't Be Moved, If You Could See Me Now, Six Degrees Of Seperation and Hall Of Fame. Of course all were amaaazing, but these were the best for me. I don't exactly know what to say about it all, I'm still quite speechless.
In the end, I bought a bag and a cup :)

I think in the end it all comes down to the fact that is was freaking awesome
and I already miss it and want to go back.

So a big THANK YOU to The Original Rudeboys and The Script for making 25-01-2013 the best night of my life!

The bag and the cup :)

I will remember this day for the rest of my life, it was amazing!!

It's snowing!

Soo it started snowing again about two days ago! I'm not sure if I like it or not haha. I actually love snow, but only when I don't have to get out of the house. But sadly I have to go to school everyday, so I think I hate it now. I almost fell off my bike about 7 times in two days because of the snow, and I'm just really clumsy. But the only thing I like about it now, is that it looks extremely pretty! But not on the streets, just in the gardens and stuff. So I took some pictures, but they're in the dark, so they're not the best pictures..

It can be soo extremely pretty, just google the word snow and the most amazing pictures show up! I'm pretty sad it's not like that here, but yeah, it's still kinda pretty. When I was younger I used to play in the snow and stuff, but now I don't even wanna step on it, because I'm ruining it and my shoes get all dirty.. But I did it today, and if I say so myself, I think the pictures turned out pretty good.

The snow makes everything so much prettier! I am also a lot happier when it has snowed, but only when I'm at home.. The only really negative thing about it now, is that there probably still will be snow on friday, when I'm going to The Script. And then it's gonna be all cold and my feet will freeze off.. Let's just hope it will be gone on friday. I really want it to snow on my birthday, but I'm pretty sure it won't. Well then I just have to appreciate it more now.

Vera

Music

Yaay it's finally weekend! And I'm really happy, because my exams are finally over! So I have 3 free days now, and I noticed I listen to music the whole day long, so I decided so share my favourite songs (of this moment and of all time).

So lately I discovered this new band, Imagine Dragons. They are from the USA and I really like their album Night Visions. If you've never heard of them, you should definitely check them out! My favourite song of their album is definitely Demons. I hate how it doesn't have a video, but that doesn't take away the fact that I love this song!

Most of you have probably never heard of Racoon, because it's a Dutch band, but I totally love them. I'm writing a little piece about their most unappreciated song (for me), I'll post the link when it's up. It's really hard for me to pick my favorite Racoon-song, but this one comes pretty close to being it. It's called Close Your Eyes.

I am definitely a big sucker for old song, so I do like quite a few of old songs as well. I have to say my all-time favorite song is probably by Duran Duran, called Ordinary World. I have listened to this song a lót of times, and I never get boring from listening to it. I think you all know this song, and if you don't, shame on you!

Another oldie I love is Coolio ft. LV - Gangsta's Paradise. One time when I was bored, I decided to learn the whole rap from this song... Yeah, awkward. I love how this still has an actual meaning in the rap, not just some swearing words.

Ever since I first heard of Ed Sheeran, I have been a massive fan. I love all of his songs, he is an amazing singer. I once saw him live and he is even better than on the CD! So Autumn Leaves is probably one of my favorite songs.

I also recently discoverd this song by Lawson, called Standing In The Dark. They are a band from the UK and I just heared this song a couple of times, I really like it :)

Save the best for last, they always say. So I did :). As I mentioned in my last post, I am a big fan of Passenger. I really love his last two albums, Flight Of The Crow and All The Little Lights. The song I love the most right now, is definitely Life's For The Living. I get chills everytime I hear this version. And I am in love with his voice, like seriously, if I could marry his voice, I would. Not even kidding.

I know there are quite a few songs, but I just had to share all of them with you. So please don't hate me for this. If you have other favorite songs that I didn't mention, please let me know! I would love to know what kinds of music you listen to. So now I'm off to enjoy my weekend :).

Wie Is De Mol?

Vera

Exams

So tomorrow I've got my first exam and as I mentioned earlier, I'm scared as hell. I seriously think I didn't study hard enough and that I'm gonna fail, but lets just hope I don't.

I have 6 exams, and tomorrow is Civics. Physics, Biology, Dutch, Science and Greek are next. The only one I'm not scared of is Dutch, even though it's a debate. I used to find debates very difficult and I got really nervous all the time and now I don't even care anymore :) maybe it because I talk a lot more than I used to..

The hell starts tomorrow and Thursday it's over. You don't know how much I'm looking forward to Thursday afternoon, lets just hope it works out alright.
I hope I didn't bore you too much

Love,
Vera
